Contract operations / Companion to the guide

Before you build the contract tracker

Establish the fictional document set, intended reader and no-live-actions boundary.

On this page

Primary reader: contracts-operations analyst. Recipient: in-house counsel and responsible business owners. You need to read clause references and edit a simple spreadsheet or text table. No paid contract-management platform is required.

Your assignment

Use C01–C05 to prepare seven entries as at 30 June 2026, 17:00 UTC+03:00. C01 is the contract teaching extract; C02 is its signed amendment; C03 supplies internal owner/reminder instructions; C04 records a trigger; C05 records an unresolved interpretation. These are the supplied exercise inputs, not a full real-matter legal file.

Distinguish obligation, option and internal target. Preserve clause references, dates, time zones, counting assumptions, ownership and required completion evidence. Leave unresolved and unobserved dates blank with an explicit status. The service party and internal follow-up owner are different fields.

Materials and checks

Use the blank workbook, field guide, date-check sheet and complete practice pack. Compare your result with the worked register. A justified alternative may be valid; matching its wording is not the test.

No live actions

Do not create calendar events, send a notice, authorise payment or upload client information. Every reminder is a proposal; status cells do not enforce a lock. Review and activation require actual people and permissions. Fictional assignments in C03 are not real practitioner approval.

Complete the final checklist and then attempt the changed-facts task. Facilitators should use the baseline-only test pack before releasing C06/C07.
